SAFETY COMMITTEE

A diverse group of people gathers at a residential street, holding speed limit signs and documents for a safety committee

🚧 Community Safety Committee

Following feedback from our recent Annual Meeting, we are forming a Community Safety Committee made up of residents who want to help promote a safer and more respectful neighborhood environment.

This initiative is focused on awareness, education, and reporting, not enforcement.

🎯 Purpose

The Safety Committee helps support the HOA by:

• Observing and reporting safety concerns within the community

• Promoting safe driving habits and awareness

• Helping identify recurring issues such as speeding, unsafe parking, and traffic violations

• Encouraging neighbors to follow community and county guidelines

⚠️ Important

This committee does not have enforcement authority.

Members:

• Do not issue warnings, citations, or penalties

• Do not confront or engage in disputes with residents

• Should not place themselves in unsafe or uncomfortable situations

All enforcement actions remain the responsibility of:

• The HOA Board

• Property Management

• Local law enforcement

🛠 Responsibilities

Safety Committee members may:

• Observe and report concerns such as:

  • Speeding or reckless driving
  • Failure to stop at stop signs
  • Parking that blocks sidewalks, fire lanes, or access points
  • Repeated unsafe behavior

• Provide helpful reminders to neighbors when appropriate and done respectfully

• Report recurring or serious concerns to the Board for follow-up

• Contact local authorities when necessary for urgent safety concerns

✅ Expectations

• Must be a resident in good standing

• Must remain respectful, calm, and non-confrontational

• Must act in the best interest of the entire community

• Must understand this role is for support and awareness, not control or policing

🤝 Why This Matters

This committee was highly requested by residents who want to:

• Reduce speeding and unsafe driving

• Improve overall safety for families and children

• Help maintain a peaceful and respectful community
